The third workshop in the ‘Global perspectives on the “orchestra”‘ project took place at the Institute of Musical Research, University of London on 30 September 2011. Speakers from the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Iceland contributed to the discussions. The workshop focused on Balinese gamelan performance issues, orchestral governance, the rehearsal process, community outreach projects and Tamil film songs.
