Contemporary Music Review
Contemporary Music Review is a contemporary musicians’ journal. It provides a forum where new tendencies in music can be discussed in both breadth and depth. Each issue focuses on a specific topic. The main concern of the journal is music today in all its aspects – its techniques of performance and composition, aesthetics, technology and its relationship with other disciplines and currents of thought.

Empirical Musicology Review
The aim of Empirical Musicology Review is to provide an international forum promoting the understanding of music in all of its facets. In particular, EMR aims to facilitate communication and debate between scholars engaged in systematic and observation-based music scholarship.

Journal of New Music Research
The Journal of New Music Research (JNMR) was founded (previously under the title Interface) in 1972. JNMR seeks to establish an interdisciplinary foundation for the creation and study of music by means of the most advanced technologies, by publishing material which is both scientifically rigorous and musically relevant. JNMR draws on disciplines ranging from musicology (music theory, aesthetics, sociology), psychology (from psychoacoustics to cognitive psychology – with emphasis on modelling), acoustics (including sound engineering), computer science (from signal processing to artificial intelligence), philosophy (epistemology and methodology) to brain sciences.
Journal of Research in Music Performance
A peer-reviewed international journal designed to provide a space for the presentation of a broad range of research that represents the breadth of an emerging field of study. Within this space a diverse population of scholars, teachers, performers, students and new researchers will have the opportunity to interact in an effort to create a continuing discourse within an emergent field. Research, in the context of this journal, is broadly defined to include quantitative, qualitative, ethnographic, historical, theoretical, philosophical, and experiential inquiry.

Liminalities: A Journal of Performance Studies
An open-access, peer-reviewed online publication that addresses three needs in performance studies scholarship and practice: 1) expanding opportunities to share peer-reviewed work, 2) creating a space for the publication of multimedia texts and projects that are difficult or impossible to publish in traditional print venues, and 3) international accessibility.

Min-Ad: Israel Studies in Musicology online
Vol. 11/2, 2013: Meaning and Style in Performance. (Please note that just four papers from the volume deals with performance subjects.)
Three articles and one book review will give the readers of this special issue of Min-Ad an initial idea of the varied subjects encompassed in the field of performance research. Dorottya Fabian’s and Uri Golomb’s papers deal with recordings of Bach music, but approach his music and its performance from contrasting angles, both in terms of repertoire and in terms of theoretical approach. Ron Atar’s paper examines the topic of the composer as a performer through an analysis of Béla Bartók’s two recordings of his fifteen Hungarian Peasant Songs. Eitan Ornoy reviews the Recorded Music volume of The Cambridge Companion series (Cambridge University Press, 2009).

An international peer-reviewed journal hosted by the Centre for Music Performance Research at the Royal Northern College of Music that disseminates research on the nature of music performance from both theoretical and empirical perspectives.
Music Perception
Music Perception charts the ongoing scholarly discussion and study of musical phenomena. Publishing original empirical and theoretical papers, methodological articles and critical reviews from renowned scientists and musicians, recent contributors have published features on tone evaluation, voice, memory, empirical data, and the conceptualisation of music.
Musicae scientiae
The journal of the European Society for the Cognitive Sciences of Music, Musicae scientiae publishes empirical, theoretical and critical articles directed at increasing understanding of how music is perceived, represented and generated.

Performance Research: A Journal of the Performing Arts
A specialist journal that promotes a dynamic interchange between scholarship and practice in an expanding field of performance. Interdisciplinary in vision and international in scope, its emphasis is on research in contemporary performance arts within changing cultures.
Psychology of Music
Psychology of Music publishes peer-reviewed papers directed at increasing the scientific understanding of any psychological aspect of music. These include studies on listening, performing, creating, memorising, analysing, describing, learning, and teaching, as well as applied social, developmental, attitudinal and therapeutic studies. Special emphasis is placed on studies carried out in naturalistic settings, especially those which address the interface between music psychology and music education.

Long known as the basic resource for keeping up with performance studies in all aspects, TDR continues to be a lively forum of debate on important performances in every medium, setting, and culture.

Women and Performance: A Journal of Feminist Theory
Women and Performance is a peer-reviewed, triannual publication featuring scholarly essays on performance, dance, film, new media, and the performance of everyday life from interdisciplinary feminist perspectives.
